When ever I see photos like these, I automatically stop and stare and keep staring. I can’t help it. This series of photographs were shot by Madelyn Rose and her stupendous team.

What attracted me straight away to these photographs was the use of light. I’m a huge fan of sunlight in photographs and much prefer location shoots to studio. Don’t get me wrong I love working in a studio but working on location there is so much at your disposal. I love this series.

Dusk is about an urban love story shot completely in black and white. The photo shoot took place in Melbourne on a roof top car park surrounded with an amazing backdrop off small buildings and skyscrapers. The day was mostly overcast with rays of light often appearing through the buildings which was perfect. With no one else around the team was able to do their thing and prepare for shooting.

In 2011 some of the photos from the series were selected to featured in Papercut Magazine but although only a couple of the photos were chosen I have uploaded the complete editorial for viewing below.
